Sandy Hook group dumps Megyn Kelly as event host

In a statement on Sunday rescinding Kelly's invite to host their gala, the Sandy Hook Promise nonprofit said it hoped she and NBC would reconsider and not broadcast the interview.

The fallout started for Kelly Sunday night, when NBC News released a promo for the Jones interview. His critics say that by inviting him on "Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly", Kelly was legitimizing his views.

After her controversial decision to air an interview with Sandy Hook denier Alex Jones, Megyn Kelly has been barred from hosting an event for an anti-gun violence organization founded by families who lost their children in the 2012 massacre.

JPMorgan Chase pulled its local television ads from NBC News programming until after the interview airs.

Meanwhile, Jones himself has called on NBC to pull the interview, but for a different reason.

Nearly immediately after its announcement, Megyn Kelly's planned interview with Infowars host Alex Jones-scheduled to air this Sunday on Kelly's new NBC News show Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly- has stirred controversy and anger, with even high-profile detractors like Captain America star Chris Evans weighing in against it.

Kelly's interview with Jones is set to air this Sunday, June 18, which is just freaky timing; Kelly was scheduled to host a benefit for victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on June 14, while Jones has maintained publicly for years that the shooting was a hoax.

The Alienware AW568 Advanced Gaming Keyboard is a pretty standard gaming keyboard with full programmability including macros. Today, Dell's gaming division Alienware unveiled a new high-speed gaming monitor aimed at fast-twitch, esports-type gaming.

"Any time you give someone like Alex Jones a platform, their followers will double-down or increase their attack on grieving families", she told the Associated Press.

"Megyn Kelly lied to me several weeks before she came here", he said.

Pressure is building on NBC to pull the "Sunday Night" interview; relatives of those who died in February 14, 2012, slaughter have objected, a gun control nonprofit, Sandy Hook Promise, canceled its invite to Kelly to host a fundraiser, and JPMorgan Chase reportedly plans to pull local ads on NBC News until after the interview airs.

"They're scared of what we're covering", he said.

Earlier Tuesday morning Kelly was dropped as the host of Sandy Hook Promise's gala.

Shannon Watts, founder of the advocacy organization Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, also appealed to Kelly in an op-ed for Refinery29. "Viewers will see Megyn do a strong interview where she challenges [Jones] appropriately", Cole said.
