Racial Slur Painted on Gate at LeBron James' LA Home

LeBron James' Los Angeles home was vandalized with a racial slur on Wednesday morning, an incident that the LAPD is investigating as a hate crime.

The house isn't James' main residence, and he might have been forgiven for refusing to let vandalism distract him from competing for an National Basketball Association title.

"Just shows that racism will always be a part of the world, part of America". "And we've got a long way to go as a society for us as African-Americans until we feel equal in America".

Much of his thoughts echoed what he said to the media as a whole, but the most striking quote was a moment where James spoke about the true meaning of equality. "I wouldn't be able to go anywhere where blacks weren't allowed back in those days because of guys like Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Lew Alcindor, Jackie Robinson and the list goes on and on", James said then. Police are investigating it as an act of vandalism and a possible hate crime.

James will play in his third consecutive NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Golden State Warriors starting Thursday. Till's mother wanted the world to see what had happened to her son and held an open casket funeral.

Mike Brown expects to coach Warriors in Game 1
At the start of the year, National Basketball Association 2K17's simulation had the Cavs beating the Warriors in seven games. Cleveland committed 12 of its 20 turnovers in the first half - "20 in the Finals is not going to get it done", Irving said.

Details about the investigation at the four-time league MVP's Brentwood mansion were not immediately available.

Now, almost a year ago to the day, James' home was the target of racially-motivated vandalism. She said the property manager told officers they believe the incident was captured on surveillance video.

"According to the Los Angeles Police Department, LeBron James' home in L.A. was the target of racist graffiti", NPR's Tom Goldman reports.

"I'll be focused tomorrow on the game, on all the games", James said. She's the energizer bunny of the family. "I just hope they understand that at the end of the day, you have to always shed light on things that may seem like they're at their darkest point".

James later added, "Hopefully I give them enough life skills that when they get ready to fly, they can fly on their own".
