Oxlade-Chamberlain ready to quit Arsenal over delay in contract talks

However, Arsene Wenger and Co are yet to offer Oxlade-Chamberlain a new deal, with a host of Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.

The lack of movement comes as a major shock given Oxlade-Chamberlain only has 12 months left on his deal.

The England global is one of a host of players in the final year of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium, but it would seem that Arsene Wenger's focus is elsewhere.

The 23-year-old is not the only footballer taking advantage of the period in between the end of the previous campaign and the beginning of pre-season.

Despite making 45 appearances for the Gunners last season in all competitions, it appears the Gunners don't see Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract renewal as a priority this summer.

With just a year to go, clubs could be able to get their hands on the Arsenal man on a cut-price deal.

The same report states that the situation has prompted uncertainty about the midfielder's future at The Emirates, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City among the clubs keeping tabs on his situation.

It's particularly surprising when you consider his form and influence on the team last season, as that alone would surely be enough to spark Arsenal into action in terms of getting him to agree on a new contract nearly immediately after last season ended.

Talk over his future may be ramping up, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could not have looked more relaxed about his next move as he chilled out on a hammock in the sea on holiday. Jack Wilshere and the injured Santi Cazorla are also options.
