Jorge Sampaoli unveiled as Argentina coach after leaving Sevilla

New Argentina Coach Jorge Sampaoli explained that he called Mauro Icardi for worldwide duty "down to his performances" for Inter.

"The liaison will go through to the 2022 World Cup. It's a boost for us to see how excited he is with this new stage (for Argentina)", Sampaoli told reporters. This national team is not of a group of players but of 40 million Argentines. "We need to have a starring role".

Only the top four sides will qualify directly for the tournament that is to be staged in Russian Federation, and he stressed the need for the national team to get there. "There are some very good teams trying to do the same thing as us", added Sampaoli.

"There are genuine difficulties in the World Cup group, but we have what it takes to qualify".

Jorge Sampaoli led Chile to a Copa America title in 2015. I spoke to him and he is very excited'.

The Casilda native has been linked with the job for months, and speculation only heightened when Edgardo Bauza was relieved of his duties in April after less than a year in charge. "I want to welcome Jorge Sampaoli".

One of the activists, Su Heng, had been working undercover as an employee at the factory for a month. The Ivanka Trump brand declined to comment for this story Tuesday.

With that received on Thursday, Sampaoli was released from his contract and allowed to be formally announced as the new Argentina coach in a presentation at their training complex just outside Buenos Aires.

Sampaoli took fourth-placed Sevilla to their highest finish in La Liga since 2010 during his only season in European soccer after a long career in South America.

Sampaoli will travel to Melbourne on Friday morning to begin coaching the squad ahead of two global friendlies.

But before the qualifiers, Sampaoli's squad has two friendly matches in June: against Brazil in Melbourne on June 9 and at Singapore on June 13.
