Warriors Take 2-0 Series Lead With Runaway Win Over San Antonio

The Golden State Warriors demolished the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

Curry's points haul included six three-pointers as the Warriors all-round offensive power crushed a San Antonio Spurs line-up missing the injured Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker. Since then, the Spurs have been outscored 194-133 by the Warriors, who hold a 2-0 series lead.

Jonathon Simmons was the Spurs' leading scorer Tuesday, putting up 17 of his 22 points in the first half.

Davis Bertans finished with 13 points for the Spurs in the defeat.

The Warriors began 10 for 16 as Curry hit three quick 3s and Green added two more for a 25-12 lead late in the first and 33-16 advantage after one quarter.

They led by 28 points - 72-44 - by half-time and accelerated still further in the third quarter to lead 106-75.

Popovich wasn't about to guess whether Leonard would return in time for Sunday's game, saying it could be Saturday (NZ time) or even game day before that would be determined.

South Korea's Moon warns high chance of clashes with North
Haley noted that this weekend's missile came within 60 miles of Russia's border and said Russian Federation is "all wrong". Although he has sometimes criticized the THAAD deployment, Moon has not said he will remove it.

He said prior to Game 4 against the Trail Blazers it "is not going to be a case where I'm coaching one night and not coaching the next", per Anthony Slater of the Mercury News.

This story has been updated with quotes and post-game material from the Warriors' locker room at Oracle Arena.

San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich gave a typically forthright assessment of his team's obliteration. "We can't allow them to get off to the start they had last game". But we've got to be ready Game 3.

A "devoted, lifelong" San Antonio Spurs fan has filed a lawsuit naming Zaza Pachulia and the Golden State Warriors as defendants, alleging the center's actions against Kawhi Leonard in Game 1 "devastated the quality of the Spurs' chances of being competitive" and diminished "the value of the tickets purchased by plaintiff subsequent to their purchase".

Popovich was taking a stand, he was performing some playoff theater, he was trying to prod his players into something special in Game 2... and what he got was a bunch of Spurs who probably realized that Popovich was so angry because Leonard is so valuable. You've got to score.

“And you have to believe. I don't think as a group they really did, which means probably a little bit feeling sorry for themselves psychologically.

"It's great, we all respect him so much that we let him make those decisions", Myers said. Youve got to understand exactly the things that we did better tonight. Leonard was seen at the Spurs' workout Thursday, but he did not participate in practice. He joins Andre Iguodala, who missed Game 2 with a left knee contusion, as the second Warriors' rotation player on the injury list. The sixth-year forward scored in double figures in all 74 appearances, including 58 games with at least 20 points, and led the team in scoring in 58 contests.
