Trump Willing To 'Make Peace' With North Korea

North Korea has carried out a barrage of missile tests in recent months, which it says are bringing it closer to acquiring the ability to hit the United States mainland with a nuclear-tipped weapon. After months of sparring with increasingly threatening political rhetoric from both the United States and North Korea, the USA has toned down its challenges to Kim Jong-un, even though earlier this month, Politico reported that the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea (DPRK) accused, through its Ministry of State Security, the us of plotting the assassination of its leader, Kim Jong-un.

North Korea's deputy U.N. ambassador on Friday rejected allegations of Pyongyang's involvement in the global "ransomware" cyberattack, accusing the United States of incriminating the regime whenever something bad happens.

South Korean defense minister Han Min-koo told parliament Sunday's test launch was "successful in flight".

National independence and peaceful unification also can not be materialized as long as the South follows foreign forces that plot to divide the Korean Peninsula permanently and invade the North, the commentary said.

Seoul and Washington have argued that the missile system is aimed at North Korean aggression, while China sees it as a threat to its own security.

One could nearly hear the "ho-hum" from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un Tuesday, after the U.N. Security Council voted to condemn his most recent missile test. An additional source of friction between the Trump and Moon administrations could arise if South Korea tries to renegotiate the December 2015 deal over World War II "comfort women" with Japan.

Comey agrees to testify before Senate Intel Committee
The Senate and House intelligence committees are also probing possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow. Trump said as much in one televised interview, but the White House has offered changing justifications for the firing.

Wang on Thursday reiterated calls for its dismantling.

Haley said: "We urge all U.N. agencies to be transparent and apply the utmost scrutiny when dealing with these types of requests from North Korea and other rogue nations".

In recent weeks Beijing and Seoul have signaled a desire to fix relations following the election of Moon, who has taken a friendlier stance toward China than his conservative predecessor.

When Xi called Moon last week to congratulate him on his election, Moon reportedly asked Xi for help in ending the economic retaliation that has taken a toll on South Korean businesses.

"(The Moon government) should make a resolute departure from an outdated era of mistrust and hostility if it really wants to better inter-Korean ties and realize reunification", it said.
