Accompanied by GoC of Baramulla-based Division, Maj Gen RP Kalita, the defence minister had visited forward areas along LoC in Rampur sector of North Kashmir's Baramulla district and was briefed by senior commanders about security situation.

On Thursday, State Finance Minister Dr Hasseb A Drabu said Jammu and Kashmir will hold a special assembly session within 30 days to make changes that are needed before GST is implemented in the state. On the demand of return of power projects to the state, he said the state government and the Union Power ministry were discussing it. "If there is any effort of ceasefire violation, our soldiers will give adequate response to this".

To a question on a civilian being used as a human shield in Budgam, the minister said that investigations in the case were on.
