Kushner, Trump's adviser sought bug-proof line to Moscow

Kushner, 36, is a real estate developer who is married to Trump's daughter, Ivanka.

President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, made a pre-inauguration proposal to the Russian ambassador to set up a secret, bug-proof communications line with the Kremlin, the Washington Post reported on Friday. The Washington Post was first to report on Friday that Kushner participated in that conversation.

News, citing unnamed USA officials, also reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking at Kushner but emphasized that although investigators believe he has "significant information relevant to their inquiry", it does not mean they suspect him of a crime.A White House spokesperson had no immediate comment.

Kislyak told higher-ups in Moscow that Kushner suggested the proposal in a meeting at Trump Tower - which former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn also attended - in December, the Washington Post reported, citing USA officials briefed on intelligence reports.

The new information about the two calls as well as other details uncovered by Reuters shed light on when and why Kushner first attracted Federal Bureau of Investigation attention and show that his contacts with Russian envoy Sergei Kislyak were more extensive than the White House has acknowledged.

Amid reports the FBI is scrutinizing Kushner's encounters, his lawyer says he stands ready to talk to federal investigators as well as Congress about his contacts and his role in Donald Trump's 2016 campaign. The White House did not acknowledge any other contacts between Kushner and Russian officials.

The report is the latest allegation of potential collusion between Trump's campaign team and Russian Federation, which United States government intelligence agencies have accused of meddling in last year's election in the Republican's favour.

A look at F1 legend Fernando Alonso
It's being labeled a " Race of Two Worlds" by McLaren . "It never goes smoothly here, " Herta told the media this week. Alonso says Rossi's recent victory has cranked up the pressure, but admits he has set no firm goals to win the race .

The meeting was held in early December at Trump Tower in New York - Mr Trump's power base. A White House official has confirmed plans for supporters meetings.

The discussion of a secret channel is the latest in a series of controversial reports and leaks regarding the Trump team's contacts with Russian Federation.

He said the Trump administration at the senior levels was being "consumed by its own hubris" in how it engaged with global actors. And less than two weeks later, the idea was dropped, said the report.

The Post and other media have been careful to note that their sources did not say Kushner was a "target" of the investigation, nor that he was accused of any wrongdoing.

Gorkov said in a statement issued by Vnesheconombank earlier this year that his meeting with Kushner was one of a series of meetings with foreign business leaders as part of a strategic review in 2016.

The Trump campaign's ties with Moscow and Russia's interference in the presidential election are now under investigation in three separate probes conducted by committees in the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as the FBI.

The Post reported last week that the Russian Federation investigation had been extended to a top White House official as a "significant person of interest".
