Jared Kushner discussed setting up secret communications with Russian ambassador

The Washington Post said investigators were looking at a series of meetings Kushner held a year ago with Russian officials, including Moscow's Ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak.

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, one of the president's closest advisors, is under FBI scrutiny in the Russian Federation investigation, multiple US media are reporting. The report quoted 3 U.S. intelligence officials who claimed that Russian Federation saw Trump's election campaign manager Paul Manafort and former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn as possible sources that could help change the president's views on issues related to Russian Federation.

Reuters has reported that Comey kept a detailed record of a meeting with the president before his dismissal in which Trump asked Comey to end the investigation into former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump has denied any collusion, calling the probe "the greatest witch hunt" in American political history.

Then-FBI Director James Comey knew that a critical piece of information relating to the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email was fake - created by Russian intelligence - but he feared that if it became public it would undermine the probe and the Justice Department itself, according to multiple officials with knowledge of the process. "He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry", said Jamie Gorelick, his attorney.

Earlier Thursday, House oversight committee chairman Jason Chaffetz told acting Federal Bureau of Investigation director Andrew McCabe that he wants records of Mr Comey's contacts with the White House and Justice Department dating to September 2013, when Mr Comey was sworn in as Federal Bureau of Investigation director under President Barack Obama. It was known that Jared Kushner had meetings with a banker from Moscow and the Russian ambassador in December 2016.

Another probe joins the lengthening line to question ex-Trump adviser Flynn
Brennan testified that three months before election day, he personally warned Russia's intelligence chief to back off. Burr said a possible contempt of Congress action was a possibility, but not until other measures were exhausted.

Mr Gorkov is the head of Vnesheconombank, which has been subject to sanctions imposed by the Obama administration in response to Russia's annexation of Crimea and its support for separatists in eastern Ukraine.

The latest bombshell ensures that Trump will be thrust right back into the Russian Federation scandal upon his return to Washington this weekend, after making his worldwide debut with a tour of the Middle East and Europe.

Thus, it is unclear whether the contact in the meeting, Kouchner and Kislyak.

CNN has not yet confirmed the Post's report. Kushner helped oversee the data operation contractors that ran the data-targeting program.

"We have not been contacted by anyone and don't know anything formally about an investigation", the source said. A new report indicated that Kushner played an active role, including meeting with Russia's ambassador to the United States to set up a secret line of communication between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

The Post has not been told that Kushner is a target - or the central focus - of the investigation, and he has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
