House measure demands stricter sanctions against North Korea

Pyongyang has accused the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) of plotting against North Korea.

The People's Daily and Global Times both responded to Pyongyang in Thursday commentaries, with the latter accusing North Korea of "irrational logic over its nuclear program".

A war of words between the West and North Korea has escalated in recent weeks, with the communist enclave threatening to carry out a sixth nuclear test.

North Korea confirmed on Wednesday the arrest of Tony Kim, which occurred amid rising tensions with U.S. President Donald Trump, who said he will not accept a nuclear armed North Korea. North Korean ballistic missile tests are banned by the United Nations because they're seen as part of the North's push for a nuclear-tipped missile that can hit the US mainland.

"The problem is that, foolishly, the USA believes that it can execute an act of state terrorism on us like it has done to other countries in the past", the article said, referring to possible plans for "decapitation strikes" against Kim.

China has gotten more vocal about its criticism of North Korea.

Unfortunately for the Reds, Milner's low penalty was saved emphatically by Forster, and the scoreline remained untouched. Southampton boss Claude Puel appeared somewhat surprised this week when he was asked about reports regarding his future.

In 2003, China halted its crude oil supply to North Korea on the pretext of a facility breakdown as Pyongyang launched a ballistic missile. May 1 that he would be "honoured" to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un under the right circumstances.

Any bellicose actions by Pyongyang can not be totally ignored as North Korean regimes in the past have carried out a number of actions against neighbouring South Korea, whose capital, Seoul, is only minutes away from North Korea's extremely large army and other military forces. In fact, South Korea's relatively moderate President Kim Dae-jung was so determined to forestall friction between the two divided countries, he adopted a so-called "Sunshine Policy" towards North Korea and provided Pyongyang with economic aid, plus agricultural shipments during severe droughts in North Korea.

"China's position on developing friendly, good-neighborly relations with North Korea is also consistent and clear", he said, as quoted by Reuters.

The KCNA commentary charged that the Chinese articles had attempted to shift the blame to Pyongyang for "deteriorated relations" between China and North Korea and United States deployment of strategic assets to the region.

The ministry added that the US and South Korean intelligence services had "ideologically corrupted and bribed a North Korean citizen, transforming him into a terrorist determined to act against the countries' supreme authorities".

Although Beijing has a good relationship with Pyongyang and is its major economic lifeline, Beijing has become increasingly impatient with North Korea's nuclear program, which it fears could lead to a regional crisis. However, past American governments have not favoured this type of commitment. He served in South Korea.
