Eighth person arrested in connection with deadly Manchester terror attack

UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd yesterday described the leaks as "irritating", after details about bomber Salman Abedi, including his name, first appeared in United States media, adding that Britain's allies were perfectly clear that it "shouldn't happen again".

"When the trust is breached it undermines these relationships, and undermines our investigations and the confidence of victims, witnesses and their family", the group said.

The investigation into the Manchester Arena atrocity has continued apace as security agencies swooped on the suicide bomber's suspected "network".

British Prime Minister Theresa May will raise the issue with U.S. President Donald Trump when she meets him at a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels later on Thursday, a government source told Reuters. But she urged Britons to remain vigilant and said soldiers would remain at high-profile sites throughout the current holiday weekend.

Abedi had detonated a "nuts-and-bolts" bomb at the end of an Ariana Grande concert as children, teenagers and others were making their way out of Manchester Arena.

Trump ordered the Justice Department to launch a full investigation into leaks from the Manchester bomb probe.

The release of details about the bombing investigation is the latest in a series of leaks that have plagued Trump's administration.

Authorities have said the 22-year-old bomber, British-born Salman Abedi, was part of a network and had recently returned from Libya, where his parents were born.

In addition, Abedi's father and younger brother were detained in Libya.

May to tell Trump intelligence 'must remain secure'
Officials believe Abedi, who died after detonating explosives in Monday's attack, was part of a network. The victims ranged from an eight-year-old schoolgirl to parents who had come to pick up their children.

"In the past five days, we have gathered significant information about Abedi, his associates, his finances, the places he had been, how the device was built and the wider conspiracy", they said in a statement. More than 110 people were injured in the attack claimed by the Islamic State.

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham raised the issue with the USA ambassador, reports said.

"This act of cowardice has no place in our religion", said Fawzi Haffar, a trustee at the Didsbury mosque.

"I wouldn't go that far but I can say they are perfectly clear about the situation and that it shouldn't happen again", Rudd said when asked about that.

"In any case, the links with Daesh are proven", he said, using a term for IS.

This is because Prime Minister Theresa May raised the terror threat level to "critical", meaning there are fears another attack could be imminent. Troops have been deployed to guard key points and eight people have been arrested.

The stadium held a minute of silence for the bombing victims.

May and Corbyn had suspended campaigning for a snap June 8 election after Monday's suicide bombing at the pop concert. Campaigning will resume on Friday.
