Deadliest Catch's Sig Hansen 'arrested for assault'

According to the police report via The Seattle Times, Hansen and another rider got agitated and spit on the driver.

According to the police reports, the altercation began when the driver picked up Hansen and three other people in Ballard for a trip to Shoreline.

The Deadliest Catch star was booked at King County Jail and will reportedly be released on a bail of $2000. When officers arrived they saw several drops of fresh-looking spit on the back of the driver's headrest and a dent in the auto. The driver then called the police, who saw "several droplets of apparently fresh-looking saliva on the back of the driver's headrest" and damage to the vehicle when they arrived. According to the police report. the app canceled his ride, even though Sig was already in the vehicle with his family. Hansen came outside a few minutes later.

When police went to the Shoreline address, Hansen denied there had been a confrontation and said he'd been celebrating Norwegian Independence Day. He then "clapped his hands conclusively", the report said. However, he later told officers that his son-in-law offered the driver $100 for the ride, and that he thought the driver was stupid for not accepting it.

Hansen offered an apology Thursday afternoon, saying on Twitter that he hoped to apologize to the driver in person. The annual celebration includes a parade and various community events.

Hansen is in the midst of a separate allegation from his estranged daughter that he sexually abused her when she was a toddler.
