United CEO says no one will be fired for dragging incident

Despite their flight delay, their wedding is still planned for Thursday.

An engaged couple en route to Costa Rica to get married were thrown off a United Airlines flight because they moved to unassigned coach class seats after finding a passenger asleep in their seats.

Unfortunately, the couple, who had booked economy seats, had selected new seats in an "economy plus" row, which the airline considers an upgrade.

"We thought 'not a big deal, ' it's not like we are trying to jump up into a first-class seat".

But then, according to Hohl, an officer came up and told them to get off the plane.

When the flight attendant asked the soon-to-be-newlyweds for their ticket to see if they were supposed to be sitting there, Hohl told them that they were not, but asked if they could upgrade their seats.

Shortly after doing so, however, a U.S. Marshall approached the couple and asked them to get off the plane. But moments later, according to Hohl, a United States marshal came onto the plane and asked them to disembark, to which they also complied.

United said the couple "wouldn't follow crew instructions" and tried to take an upgraded seat multiple times.

Kerry 'absolutely supportive' of Trump's Syria strike
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson meanwhile plans to meet with G-7 foreign ministers in Europe next week before going on to Moscow. Russian Federation had its own military personnel at the Syrian military airport that the US struck with cruise missiles.

"The incident has been a humbling learning experience for all of us here at United", he said.

When a flight attendant asked if they were sitting in the right seats, Hohl said he explained there was a sleeping passenger in theirs and asked to have their seats changed to the ones where they were.

United Airlines Flight 1737 was headed out of Houston for Liberia, Costa Rica on Saturday.

They were unable to leave Texas that day because flight crews told them to deplane before takeoff, he told the TV station.

United has to seriously rethink its crisis communications policy if it hopes to earn back customers' trust - or at the very least, stop trying to paint their customers as the villains in every situation.

You'd think United Airlines would be a little more sensitive and careful about the decision to kick passengers off a flight after becoming the laughingstock of the country for dragging a doctor off a plane last week. Social media users across the United States, Vietnam and China called for a boycott of the airline over the incident.
