Meet Galaxy Note 8 - Samsung's first dual camera phone

While the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC processor in the U.S., in India it will come with the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC processor.

Doing what they do best, folks at iFixit have torn apart the new Samsung Galaxy S8 in a bid to give us a clear picture of what the phone is like from the inside. Except for the camera, every other department has got a major makeover.

In terms of specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, one of the key features is the Infinity Display which has dual-edge curved display and covers nearly the entire front of the phone.

The Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8 inch QHD display; while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2 inch QHD display. The displays sport a resolution of 2961x1440 pixels, along with the 18:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood it runs the Exynos 8895 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz.

The smartphones are running Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box and have a dedicated button on the side for Bixby, Samsung's new AI personal assistant. There are no physical navigation keys on the bottom this time, and the fingerprint sensor is moved to the back. Both the phones will ship with AKG-tuned headphones. Samsung has also included IRIS scanner for enhanced security. The company has also added a pressure sensitive invisible home button which is baked at the bottom of the display.

Connectivity options include a USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v5.0, Global Positioning System and NFC. Both the new Samsung flagships will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and you can pre-order the phones starting 3 p.m. today.
