McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier has hailed Jenson Button as a "class act" and believes the Briton will not have lost any of his form when he returns to Formula 1 in Monaco next month.
The Woking-based team has made an unprecedented move in entering a vehicle at Indianapolis for Alonso, who will skip the Monaco Grand Prix to take part in IndyCar's showpiece event.
"Winning in F1 is great, winning eight world championships in F1 would be great to have one more than Michael but that is very, very unlikely because I don't have time to do that".
As for Alonso's decision to drop the Monaco GP for the Indy 500, Hamilton has applauded the decision. "A world champion", he said. Seven other drivers won F1 titles after participating in the Indianapolis 500. "It's good if that's what he wants to do but honestly I'm surprised that it's happening", said Grosjean.
The British driver retired from Formula 1 at the end of last season, but kept an agreement with McLaren that he will compete if called upon.
Alonso's Indianapolis announcement has been followed by Friday's confirmation Jenson Button will return to race duties for the Monte Carlo race, stepping up from his role as reserve driver. Alonso is a two-time Monaco GP victor, and has yet to drive Le Mans. "On the planes, I will try to look at some videos and some races from the past years and try to learn as quick as I can". "He's a racer, and he sets goals for himself".
United Airlines changes crew flight policy after forcible removal fiasco
Dao suffered a concussion and a broken nose, and will undergo reconstructive surgery after losing two front teeth, Demetrio said. United Airlines crew members will no longer be able to bump a passenger who is already seated in one of the airline's planes.
"It's not an easy thing to do in one go", Hamilton said. "His auto is going to run with some guy everybody will be pretty familiar with".
Two, it proves he's targeted being only the second ever driver to complete motorsport's Triple Crown. He's very smart and that's what you need to be around Indianapolis. "He's with a team that's a proven victor, and teammates that are definitely proven winners, too".
"We have a strong relationship and partnership with Honda. So the stars are somewhat aligning for a great run for Fernando".
"You're not going to see any drop in momentum", Newgarden said. A rookie driver won it previous year, not that we're going to set any expectations.
That being said, we reckon Button's appointment as Alonso's deputy has gone down pretty well with the fans.
Although it would have been logical for Button to take part in next week's post-Bahrain GP test - or even run in a free practice session in Spain or Russian Federation - to better understand this year's revamped, McLaren thinks there is more to gain by concentrating on simulators. "So I think he needs to see a psychiatrist personally".
