MCD Election 2017: All You Need To Know

Former AAP MLA Sandeep Kumar, who was sacked from the party after an alleged sex scandal, was spotted campaigning for the BJP for the Delhi MCD polls, reports said on Monday. This, he said, was part of a motivated design by the Delhi State Government to squeeze the funds of MCD and to induce it to levy or raise Corporation level taxes and thus earn the displeasure of the citizen. One such canteen is functioning at the LNJP hospital. It will be reviewed every two years. The civic body elections are being seen as a popularity test for the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party which lost the Rajouri Garden seat to the BJP in the by-elections, for the BJP, these elections are a prestige issue - the party will be looking to return to power for a third consecutive term.

The BJP had released its manifesto, promising to provide meals priced at Rs 10 apart from pledging not to levy any new municipal taxes.

Tiwari also said the BJP will work for direct transfer of funds from the Centre to the municipal corporations.

The BJP, in this year's polls to the three civic bodies, has decided not to give tickets to all its sitting councilors in the three corporations. According to MCD officials, property tax default causes the civic bodies revenue loss to the tune of Rs 800 crore per year. "We will force the government to release the dues", said Tiwari.

The Cubs then used a combination of Carl Edwards , Jr., Koji Uehara and Wade Davis to finish up blanking the Dodgers . The Dodgers know the simple answer to avoiding it next time is to win their own NL crown and World Series.

The AAP is aiming to repeat its 2015 Delhi Assembly performance but its humiliating defeat in the by-election and drubbing in Punjab may have hit the morale of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's party. It also promised to regularise the temporary sanitation workers, digitalisation of citizen services, putting pressure on the Delhi government for regularisation of unauthorised colonies.

The AAP had earlier alleged that the North MCD had changed norms to forgo house tax for Goel's property past year. It also promised autorickshaw and taxi stands with restrooms for drivers and issuance of licences to hawkers.

In the 28-page "Sankalp Patra" or the "charter of commitment", the party promised to work towards protecting cows if it is voted to power in the three municipal corporations.
