Halo Wars: Definitive Edition Dated for Standalone Purchase

Microsoft Studios tiptoed ever closer to that possibility with a Monday announcement-Halo Wars: Definitive Edition (HWDE) is coming to Steam later this week. The Windows Store app lists it separately, but at last look the entry still indicated that it's "available only as part of a bundle", specifically the Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition package.

The original Halo Wars is worth a look for Halo fans and strategy gamers, and with a stand-alone release scheduled, there's never been a better time to get your hands on it. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition includes new achievements and all the add-ons from the landmark game.

Though the storm was expected to match the ferocity of the 1968 Tropical Cyclone, it bypassed much of the country. It left the town of Edgecumbe flooded by thigh-high water with many people still unable to return to their homes.

However, if you do buy the game on either Xbox Live or the Windows Store, you will have access to the Xbox Play Anywhere features that are exclusive to the platforms, allowing for cross saves and Xbox achievements. Experience the epic campaign or compete in online multiplayer battles with armies of powerful Halo forces at your command.

As you can read on the official page of Steam dedicated to the game, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition will be sold on the Valve platform as of April 20. "Cross-play with Windows Store versions of the same game is not supported".
