The 2017 National Football League regular season schedule was officially announced roughly 12 hours ago, but already the Week 1 games have been given odds.
The news was initially reported by Mike Francesca of WFNY, who apparently read the entire Giants schedule on his radio show.
Last year the Giants beat the Cowboys 20-19 (and then the Cowboys wouldn't lose again until Week 14 when they played the Giants a second time) and the year before that the Cowboys beat the Giants 27-26 on Sunday night. Three of their first four games (Dallas, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay) are on the road.
The Giants do have one large bullet to dodge to open the season and that's the fact they'll be playing four of their first six games on the road. On Thursday afternoon we all get to find out when they play them all.
Last year, the brutal Green Bay weather caused the New York Giants' journey to end with a disappointing grounding earlier than they'd hope for. In my mind, the Giants would be in pretty good shape if they can somehow be 4-2 after six weeks. Of the four, the one home game is against a tough Seattle Seahawks team, just ahead of the postseason. Last season saw the Giants as the only squad to hand Dallas two defeats during the regular season.
Boris Johnson 'dismayed' by Russia's UN Syria veto
During his presidential election campaign, Trump said he would like the U.S. to have better relations with Russian Federation . The Kremlin had previously declined to confirm Putin would meet Tillerson, reflecting tensions over the USA strike on Syria.
Week 17: Home against the Washington Redskins. And if this contest took place in Lambeau, it would actually be lower on the list because the Cowboys destroyed the cheeseheads at home last season 30-16.
The Giants' preseason schedule had previously been announced. Three of their final four (Broncos, Saints, Patriots) will be on the road. It is highlighted by the opener in Dallas and a Thanksgiving matchup with the Redskins in Washington. They'll be part of the Week 3 game when they visit the Arizona Cardinals.
Week 10: At the San Francisco 49ers.
Their bye week is in Week 8, right smack in the middle of the season.
PREDICTION: The Giants finish 11-5 for the second straight season. Click the comment bubble near this story's headline to join in the conversation.
