Charlie Murphy, brother of Eddie Murphy, dead at 57

As we previously reported, Charlie Murphy passed away today (April 12) after battling leukemia.

The former Chappelle's Show star reportedly died in a NY hospital at the age of 57 due to the cancer, which was confirmed by his publicist and manager this morning.

Charlie Murphy will be sorely missed by all as his "Real Hollywood Stories" on Chappelle Show (yes, most especially Rick James) will be remembered for all time.

He also has writing credits for Paper Soldiers, Vampire in Brooklyn, and the screenplay Norbit.

Correction: The original version of this story misstated Charlie Murphy's role on Chappelle's Show.

Chelsea skipper Terry had specific reason for timing of departure announcement
Swansea City will reportedly lodge a bid for defender John Terry should they secure their Premier League status for another year. I never played against him but I managed teams against him, against Chelsea and maybe four times against England with Croatia.

Charlie rose to fame after his rousing performance on Dave Chappelle's Comedy Central skit series, Chappelle's Show.

Murphy died Wednesday from complications from leukemia.

Charlie Murphy, Eddie Murphy's older brother who enjoyed success as a popular stand-up comedian in his own right, has died.

Charlie was a screenwriter responsible for some of brother Eddie Murphy's films. "Thank you for not only being a friend but for believing in me when I was young in this comedy game", Hart captioned a photo of Charlie on Instagram. I was always proud of my brother. Murphy's deadpan delivery, the way he still seems surprised and confused by how it all went down that day...that still cracks me up more than a decade after I first saw it.

His Facebook and Twitter accounts have, of late, been full of short, inspirational messages, including this from Tuesday: "One to Sleep On: Release the past to rest as deeply as possible". They leave two children, daughter Ava and son Xavier; Charlie Murphy also had another child from a previous relationship.
