Apple is preparing three new iPhone models for a launch as soon as this fall, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
The technology giant is working on three iPhone models this year, including one that will deliver an updated design and an "advanced" camera, Bloomberg is reporting citing sources.
The iPhone 8 will reportedly feature a display that almost covers the entire front of the device.
The iPhone 8 is set to be roughly the same size as the iPhone 7, measuring in at 137.54 x 67.54 mm but with a screen that measures 5.768 inches diagonally, which is nearly the exact same size as the Samsung Galaxy S8.
National Basketball Association roundup: Cavaliers collapse in fourth quarter against Hawks
Boston, which won over the Charlotte Hornets , 121-114 on Saturday, is just one-half game behind the Cavs in the team standings. The Cavs drew criticism when James sat out the last time they faced the Heat on March 4. "That has to be part of who we are".
The device is expected to use an organic light-emitting diode display that more accurately shows colours.
For now, the sources say the prototypes have been designed as an homage of sorts to previous versions of the iPhone, specifically to the 2010 iPhone 4 and 2007's original iPhone, compete with dramatic curves and screens that curve into a steel frame. Apple is reportedly considering a virtual fingerprint sensor that would be baked into the device's screen, allowing users to press their fingers to the display to unlock the device. However, a new report published by Mark Gunman and Min-Jeong Lee on Bloomberg states the following about Apple's plans for the future.
Some reports have stated that the iPhone 8 will have a curved OLED sheet.
Significant camera changes are also in the works. It would thus have a screen around the same size as the current iPhone 7 Plus, but crammed into a body the size of the iPhone 7. One reason why Apple might not opt for a curved OLED panel is due to supply constraints.
Just in case you need to be brought up to speed, there's now talk of a special anniversary iPhone being released later this year. If Apple will get rid of the home button, the iPhone 8's fingerprint sensor will go under the phone's glass cover.
The placement and design for the Touch ID on the next iPhone remains the biggest unknown. It's also mooted to feature a vertically-aligned iSight Duo dual camera system.
