Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca are three of the most recognizable individuals within the Star Wars universe itself, and the wider media - and the story of the exploits of their younger years is one that fans have been clamouring to see on the big screen for decades. Chris Weitz (who wrote another draft) thought we were right. they finally went off and fought for it.
After Jyn and Cassian stole the plans, they ran across the beach (a shot seen in early preview footage) and a Rebel ship dropped down to pick them up.
"I think you've already seen us get 90% of the way there with Rogue One".
With 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Gareth Edwards earned himself a place in history as the first filmmaker to deliver a Star Wars movie that exists outside of the main saga of that franchise, and succeeds as essentially a standalone story.
"One of the thing things we really want to do at Lucasfilm is create a universe and not keep relying on old legacy characters", Gary Whitta, the original writer for Star Wars: Rogue One, told ComingSoon.net (via GamesRadar). "It's worth it. If you're going to give your life for anything, give your life for this, to destroy a weapon that going to kill you all anyway".

Numerous initial reactions made the album seem like Views 2.0 but a second listen suggests something different. While the song is about another former love, the star raps 'I drunk text J-Lo/ Old number, so it bounce back'.
Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm will release Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on March 24, along with the Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On Demand release on April 4. Here's where things differ markedly from the theatrical cut.
In the ending scene of the first draft, "a rebel ship came down and got [Jyn and Cassian] off the surface". However, you'd soon discover, "They got away in an escape pod just in time". The pod looked like just another piece of debris. As the ship carrying Jyn and Cassian is being chased by Darth Vader's Star Destroyer, the plans are transferred to Princess Leia's ship. "The ship-to-ship data transfer happened off Scarif", he said. "You don't see a light saber once until Vader pops it out at the end, ' noting that the box office hit didn't possess the same themes of 'spirituality or mysticism" as its predecessors.
