Ravens sign former Cowboys CB Brandon Carr to four-year deal

In other Cowboys news on Thursday, cornerback Brandon Carr signed a free-agent deal with Baltimore. It also reportedly is more than what the Cowboys offered Claiborne to re-sign with them.

"This is a good football player", general manager Ozzie Newsome said in a statement. He recorded 151 total tackles in Dallas along with four interceptions.

Well, the Jets agree with that notion, as they gave Claiborne a one-year contract worth $5 million, according to NFL Network. Claiborne was on the field for only 406 snaps, but that was due to the fact that he missed more than half the season with injuries. In five seasons in Dallas, he played in 47 games, starting 43, while intercepting four passes and recovering four fumbles. Carr's consistent availability was likely one of the most appealing factors to the Ravens. Instead, after it was reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports that the two sides had a disconnect on cost, the Ravens chose to go with Carr.

Chuck Berry Dies Aged 90 The Quietus , March 18th, 2017 22:20
Chuck Berry was rock "n" roll till the end. "The family requests privacy during this time of bereavement". "I am so sad to hear of Chuck Berry's passing", Mick Jagger said in a statement provided by his rep.

Betting on himself ended up paying dividends for the former Cowboys cornerback, as Claiborne turned a solid year into a lucrative deal with the New York Jets.

With Carr departing, the Cowboys secondary continues to take hits. Interesting names still remain available on the free agent market, like Darrelle Revis, Brandon Flowers, Sam Shields, and Alterraun Verner.
